ABOUT MURAT

Murat Yavuz is the General Manager and Vice Chairman of the Board at Kelebek Group, Cappadocia’s largest integrated tourism company, which encompasses six boutique hotels, four restaurants, a hot air balloon company, and a travel agency. With over a decade of experience in strategic growth, digital promotion, and integrated operations management, he plays a leading role in shaping the region’s tourism sector.

He graduated magna cum laude in 2018 from UC Denver, earning a degree in Architecture. As the co-founder of an architectural firm specializing in restoration, he has overseen projects that safeguard Cappadocia’s historical identity and architectural heritage. Complementing his architectural career, he studied Spanish in Barcelona and is fluent in both Spanish and English.

At the age of 18, he became one of Turkey’s youngest licensed hot air balloon pilots and has since accumulated over 1,000 flight hours in Cappadocia and internationally. His innovative vision has led to some of Cappadocia’s most remarkable tourism projects, including the region’s most-viewed YouTube tourism campaign—a hot air balloon flight accompanied by a world-renowned DJ—and a record-breaking event featuring 18 balloons flying simultaneously to live music. Beyond his professional achievements, Murat Yavuz actively represents Cappadocia in the tourism sector. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Tourism Committee at the Nevşehir Industry and Business People Association (NESİAD) and holds memberships in leading organizations including SKAL, KAPTİD, KAPYAD, and the Göreme Cooperative. Driven by a mission to showcase Cappadocia’s cultural treasures and natural wonders to the world, Murat Yavuz continues to merge tradition, innovation, and sustainability in shaping the future of tourism in the region.
